    Back to Bowling

    Tuesday, July 15, 2008, 01:51 AM [General]

I haven't been updating the blog for the past few weeks because I've been overseas for the past month. When I returned to the states, I realized I missed about five weeks of my league.

My average right now is 177 with 29 games under my belt. I was thinking that coming back to bowl without even touching a ball for the past month was going to be a problem... but I managed to bowl pretty well. I started slow in the first game with 166, then I hit 221 and 210... finishing the series with a 597.

We play position round again in a few weeks, so hopefully it will pan out. We took 2 out of 3 games last night... so it works in our favor.

My Appearance on the Man Show

    Monday, June 9, 2008, 03:04 AM [General]

I know this has nothing to do with bowling... but I'll just spit something out about how I bowled in the league this week. My average is still around 182, so at least I'm consistent. The ball is just awesome. I get nothing lower than a 180 during league play, but I really need to get that spare ball.

Anyway, most of you know that I'm in television. I dug up a clip from the year 2000 from Comedy Central's The Man Show. It features me with Adam Carolla and Jimmy Kimmel. Here's the video link.

Have a great time bowling out there you guys.

    Steve,

Remember when we talked about being able to attack the lanes from different angles. Well I have found the perfect video by Chris Barnes and just go to the link below and click on the Chris and Chris #4 video.

    Hi Steve,

I tell you what there is no feeling like it when you have that last strike to throw and you throw it perfect in the pocket and the pins just blow off of the deck and suddenly everything starts flashing and all of your fellow bowlers are coming over and congratulating you. IT'S SWEET!

I cannot wait for you to have that feeling my friend so get connected with some USBC leagues and make it happen. Just don't pressure yourself and just let everything flow and remember keep it simple. It doesn't do any good to think about because my main thought was winning the league for my team and not a 300 so I was very focused on just getting strikes.

I figured it up with practice and the second game I had 25 strikes in a row. The other thing is my last game sucked because all of that adrenalin had gone away and we had pretty much won the league so we were already celebrating and I didn't care by then because we won.

    Hi Steve,

Listen I rolled my 300 last night on the last night of the league and it was great. The funny thing is most everyone just wasn't paying attention and bowling as usual so it kept me a little more relaxed. You know I have had 4 800 series and I average high but I had not had a 300 game in a long time and never one where I get the ring.

So it was a great last night of league plus we won the league so that was also really cool.

    Good luck,
    Chris

Congrats on the 289 and the 10 in a row. Keep it up and like Chris said, when you get the 300, make sure you do it in a sanctioned league.
